Marco Torresin was born in 1987 in Camposampiero (PD).
He began his studies at the Amedeo Modigliani Artistic Lyceum of Padua and went on to study at the IUAV University of Venice, graduating with a master’s degree in Architecture “Conservation and Construction”.
Over the course of his university studies he explored in depth a number of topics that would enrich his greatest passion: production design; successfully attending and completing courses in other faculties and universities, such as: “Theatrical and cinematographic scenography” in the IUAV faculty of “Visual and Performing Arts”; “Aesthetics” at the Ca ‘Foscari University of Venice; “Aspects of Japanese and Western Culture viewed through the cinema” and “Digital Tools for Humanities” at Venice International University.
After graduating with a master’s degree, he passed the state exam in order to become a professionally qualified architect.
He went on to collaborate briefly with “The Piranesi Experience“, a company which investigates and reports on architecture and architectural work, through the most experimental, advanced and modern cinematographic and digital shooting techniques.
Through competitive examination in 2013, he secured a place to study Production Design at the National film school: Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia of Rome where, for a period of three years (2014 – 2016), he had the pleasure of learning and collaborating with important figures in the film industry, such as Francesco Frigeri – course director and lecturer as well as his mentor – and successfully earned his diploma in production design at the end of the course.
In 2017, he completed his education at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood – Los Angeles; further developing his skills as a “2D / 3D Digital Artist and Matte Painter” as well as acquiring a highly professional level of English.
His passion and dedication have led him to master traditional drawing techniques as well as software such as: AutocCAD, SketchUp, Maya, V-ray and Photoshop.
Such knowledge, enriched by practical and constructive skills and experience, allows him to collaborate professionally across multiple areas, such as the architectural / set design for Film, Television Film and the Stage. Among his latest works: “FAVOLA” and “DOGMAN” alongside Dimitri Capuani and Filippo Timi, “THE NAME OF THE ROSE” and “LEONARDO” with Francesco Frigeri and Domenico Sica, “CATCH-22” with David Gropman and George Clooney, “THE NEW POPE” with Ludovica Ferrario and Paolo Sorrentino, “THE LAST PLANET” with Stefano Maria Ortolani and Terrence Malick; mainly in the roles of: Assistant Art Director, illustrator, Matte Painter and Graphic.
